FINGER AND PALM ROTARY WHEEL FOR STEERING WHEEL

The finger and palm rotary wheel for the steering wheel is a product which was developed in order to ensure a more rapid and controlled driving by increasing the performance of the steering wheel and can be adapted to the steering wheel of vehicles in all designs and models.

Steering wheel turning apparatus in various designs and functions are available. These kits which can also be used by normal people as well as disabled people are mounted externally on the steering wheel then and the steering wheel is being turned by completely gripping an apparatus in appearance of a knob or pipe.

The finger and palm rotary wheel for the steering wheel is a product which was developed in order to ensure a more rapid and controlled driving by increasing the performance of the steering wheel and can be adapted to the steering wheel of vehicles in all designs and models.

Finger and palm wheels of rotary steering wheel  (1,5,6,12,17,18,19) consists of a soft chamber of silicon and rubber derivative – type soft housing in different diameter (Figure – 1, Item – 15) and structure (Figure 4, Item – 11), into which finger and hand enters or on which is pressed with palm and a neck (2) in robust structure.   The neck of the wheel (2) fits tightly into the center of a radial, conical or axial roller bearing (4) fitted into the roller bearing (11) of the steering wheel, thus the steering wheel can be manually turned and controlled with the palm or hand. The bottoms of the neck (2) are designed in two distinct forms, open (2) and closed (15). While the finger or the hand with the bottom – open neck (2) enters it from one end of the wheel and comes out from the other end, it only extends up to only the bottom with the closed neck type (15). The recesses (13) and protrusions (14) in various sizes and intervals, contained on the wheel have been installed for better grip of rotary finger or palm  wheels however, the rotary finger or palm  wheels (1,5,6,12,17,18) can also be employed in a flat form (Figure - 11).

Rotary – wheel finger wheels (1, 5) has been designed in an oval form to allow easy, free entry and exit of the finger from the wheel (Figure - 1) however, the wheels can be shaped in angular (6,12), flat (20), concave (17) or convex (18) form as well. The concave (17), convex (18) and flat rotary palm wheels also have a similar installation, structure and function as with other oval (1,5,19) and angular (6,12) wheels yet, finger cannot pass through their centers and they are turned by pressing on them.

While the rotary finger (1,5,6,12,19) and palm (17, 18, 19) wheels of the steering wheels  (1,5,6,12,17,18,19,20) can be fixed to the roller bearing (11) of the rotary steering wheel which may be found at any location of  the wheel, it can be installed onto the steering wheel (3) with a portable steering wheel clamp (7) as well. The rotary finger (1,5,6,12,19) and palm (17, 18, 19) wheels of the steering wheels  (1,5,6,12,17,18,19,20) tightly inserted into the roller bearing (8) to the portable wheel clamp (7) are attached to the steering wheel (10) with a clamp (7) bearing hinges (9) hereon using the screws (10). While the wheels (1, 6) can be driven into only one side of the roller bearing, they can also be assembled reciprocally, duplex manner as well (Figure - 1).

The rotary finger (1,5,6,12,19) and palm (17, 18, 20) wheels of the steering wheels  (1,5,6,12,17,18,19) offer  a much more error – free dominance of the steering wheel and practical use of the steering wheel. When compared with its similar ones with knob and tube form, the rotary finger and palm wheels deliver a safer and rapid usage. In case of an accident where the driver collided or hit the steering wheel, it does not cause any damage to the body because of its design of being embedded to the steering wheel and its risk of being hit or tackled with in caser of emergency situations is too little to say present.

While the rotary finger (1,5,6,12,19) and palm (17, 18, 19) wheels of the steering wheels  (1,5,6,12,17,18,19,20) can be manually turned; particularly the flat rotary palm wheel (20), concave rotary palm wheel (17) and convex rotary palm wheel (18) can be pressed down with the palm to control the steering wheel as well nevertheless, other wheels (1,5,6,12) can also be pressed down with the palm to control the steering wheel. The friction of wheels (1,5,6,12,17,18,19,20) to the roller bearing friction is prevented with a stage found on the neck (16). The stage based on the sides of inner ring (16) ensures free movement of the wheels comfortably.

The mechanism has a feature ensuring its installation without making any radical modifications on the steering wheel. The wheels (1,5,6,12,17,18,19,20) installed directly to the clamp and steering wheel is easy to be manufacture and its cost is low as well as its practical usage. Allowing single or multiple application on the steering wheels in any / all models and design without requiring an extra place promotes the driving performance as well.
